Boxer Lahiru Chandrabandara was the bright spot for Team Sri Lanka at Monday's Achi Nagoya 20rh Asian Games out of events when he scored a convincing 4-1 win over Yemen's Saeed Mustafa in the men's 70 kilogram weight class preliminaries bout.
Chandrabanda's praiseworthy performance took him to the round of 16 where he will next face Ikhtiyar Nishonov of Kyrgyzstan.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's Men's Basketball Captain Sanjaan Guarantne said post match yesterday following defeats to Kazakhstan and Phillipines in the round robin Pool A that 'we made small small mistakes in our two games. We learnt a lot from these two games and hope to brush up our minus factors and win Wednesday's game against Mongolia.'
"Against Kazakhstan it was close losing by 2 points and in the game against the Philippines we found the physical disadvantage where they were much bigger than us," he contended.
