Applications Open for the IOC Certificate: Safeguarding Officer in Sport – 2026 Intake

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC Sri Lanka) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the “IOC Certificate: Safeguarding Officer in Sport” programme conducted by IOC OS – SportsOracle.
 
This pioneering programme, awarded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is specifically designed for individuals who have been appointed or are to be appointed as Safeguarding Officers, serve as focal points for safeguarding matters, or work in the field of sport integrity within National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Federations (IFs), National Federations (NFs), and other sport organisations.
 
The course consists of seven comprehensive learning modules and aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and practical understanding to prevent and respond to harassment and abuse (interpersonal violence) in sport. The programme also contributes significantly towards prioritising athlete well-being and strengthening safeguarding practices within sporting organisations and major sporting events.
 
The course delivery includes:

    ' Computer-based lectures with audio and video presentations

    ' Interactive learning components and self-assessment activities

    ' Monthly Zoom sessions with fellow participants, Programme Directors, and AAB members

Scholarship Opportunity
 
NOC Sri Lanka will recommend one nominee for the IOC-OS scholarship programme. Please note that the awarding of the scholarship is subject to the approval of IOC-OS. Applicants who are not selected for the scholarship may still proceed with the programme at their own expense should they wish to continue the course.

Application Procedure
 
Applicants are required to first register with SportsOracle and submit the registration confirmation received from SportsOracle together with the requested supporting documents under the Entry Requirements.
 
All supporting documents should be emailed to: education@olympic.lk
 
Email Subject Requirement
 
Applicants are kindly requested to rename the email subject as follows: “Application – IOC Certificate: Safeguarding Officer in Sport 2026 Intake”
 
Please note that applications submitted without the above-mentioned email subject format will not be entertained.
 
Application Deadline
 
The deadline for submission of applications is 25th May 2026.
